Puckett and A. Langoussis report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 17.6) on an unfiltered CCD image taken on July 24.32 UT (confirmed via CCD on July 25.22 by M. Marcus). SN 2003gq is located at R.A. = 22h53m20s.68, Decl. = +32o07'57".6 (equinox 2000.0), which is 4".95 west and 11".3 north of the center of NGC 7407, but is not present on images taken by Puckett on July 8 (limiting mag about 20.0). NOTE: These 'Central Bureau Electronic Telegrams' are intended to be preliminary announcements of items that later appear in the formal IAU Circulars.
