Moore and W. Li report the LOSS discovery of an apparent supernova of mag about 18.6 on an unfiltered KAIT image taken on Sept. 22.52 UT. The new object was confirmed on an earlier image taken on Aug. 16.54 UT at mag about 18.7. SN 2004ep is located at R.A. = 5h57m53s.66, Decl. = -23o10'58".3 (equinox 2000.0), which is 3".8 east and 7".2 south of the nucleus of IC 2152. A KAIT image on Mar. 5.20 UT showed nothing at this position (limiting mag about 19.5).
