Liller, Vina del Mar, Chile, reports his discovery of a possible nova located at R.A. = 1h15m.0, Dec. = -73o26' (equinox 2000.0), which appeared at magnitude approximately 10.4 on two Tech Pan films taken on Aug. 6.388 UT with a 0.2-m Schmidt camera. Nothing brighter than mag 13 appears at this location on a photograph taken on Mar. 23. The new object is in a crowded field and near two open clusters. L. A. G. Monard, Pretoria, S. Africa, reports that his CCD observations obtained around Aug. 7.84 show a new object at R.A. = 1h14m59s.92, Decl. = -73o25'35".8 (uncertainty +/- 0".2); he measured the following magnitues for the possible nova: B = 12.0 +/- 0.25, V = 11.6 +/- 0.15, R = 10.8 +/- 0.15.
