Puckett and G. Sostero report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 18.2) on an unfiltered CCD frame taken with the 0.35-m automated supernova patrol telescope on Nov. 9.04 UT. The new object was confirmed at mag 18.0 on multiple CCD frames taken with a 0.60-m reflector on Nov. 11.02. SN 2005kc is located at R.A. = 22h34m07s.34, Decl. = +5o34'06".3 (equinox 2000.0), which is 7".6 east and 7".4 south of the center of NGC 7311. Nothing is visible at this location on images taken by Puckett on Sept 6 and 9 (limiting mag about 20.0).
