Electronic Telegram No. 284 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION M.S. 18, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, Cambridge, MA 02138, U.S.A. Sekanina, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, provides the following ephemeris for the companion, continuing from IAUC 8440 but based on an improved fragmentation model. It is noted that the companion's angular separation from the primary in late 2005 is expected to be significantly smaller than it was when the comet was last observed in May, a circumstance that should not surprise the observer. The predicted separation distances and position angles (equinox 2000.0) are as follows: 2005 Nov. 6, 85", 306 deg; Dec. 16, 90", 309 deg; 2006 Jan. 25, 100", 310 deg; Mar. 6, 111", 309 deg; Apr. 15, 110", 307 deg; May 25, 98", 306 deg.
