Kospal, Konkoly Observatory, Budapest, reports that CCD V, R_C and I_C images of V1647 Ori (IAUC 8284, 8354) -- obtained between Oct. 5 and Nov. 20 at the Mountain Station of Konkoly Observatory using the 1-m RCC telescope by S. Csizmadia, M. Eredics, A. Kospal, M. Kun, and M. Racz -- show that this variable star has started a very rapid fading: approximately 1 mag/month in I_C as opposed to 0.1 mag/month previously (Semkov 2004, IBVS 5578). According to the color changes, the rapid fading is not caused by increasing extinction. Supposing that the observed brightness changes of V1647 Ori are intrinsic, and the fading rate remains unchanged, the star will return to the pre-outburst state by mid-December 2005.
