Sostero report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 17.0) on an unfiltered CCD frame taken with the Puckett Observatory 0.60-m automated supernova patrol telescope in Ellijay, GA, on Jan. 15.05 UT (and confirmed at mag 16.9 by G. Sostero and S. Garzia on multiple frames taken on Jan. 15.77 with a 0.25-m reflector at Remanzacco, Italy). The new object is located at R.A. = 3h26m01s.49, Decl. = +40o41'42".5 (equinox 2000.0), which is 4".7 west and 2".2 north of the center of a galaxy that itself is near UGC 2730. Nothing was present at this location on images taken by Puckett on 2005 Sept. 23 (limiting mag about 19.0).
