Graves, Charleston, IL, reports the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 18.1) on unfiltered CCD frames taken with the Astronomical Research Observatory 0.40-m reflector on Apr. 27.28 and 28.29 UT. The new object is located at R.A. = 13h52m47.81s, Decl. = +5o18'49".4 (equinox 2000.0), which is 21".8 east and 1".4 south of the center of the apparent host galaxy. Nothing appears at this location on a frame taken by Holmes on Feb. 26.33 (limiting mag 20.3) or on Palomar Sky Survey images taken on 1995 Jan. 31 (limiting red mag about 22.0) and 1950 Apr. 19 (limiting red mag about 21.0).
