Leonard, San Diego State University, reports that CCD spectra (range 360-920 nm) of SN 2006dl (cf. IAUC 8727), obtained on July 1 UT with the Keck I 10-m telescope (+ LRISp), shows it to be an apparently young type-IIb/Ib supernova. The spectra present features that bear similarity to those of SN 2000H (cf. Elmhamdi et al. 2006, A.Ap., 450, 305), SN 2006bf (cf. CBET 455), and SN 2006T (cf. CBET 425) within two weeks of explosion. Similarly obtained spectra of SN 2006dk (cf. IAUC 8727) show it to be an aging type-Ib supernova, with features very similar to those of SN 1984L about 10 weeks after B-band maximum (cf. Filippenko 1997, ARAA 35, 309, but *FOR* day 58, *READ* day 72; Matheson et al. 2001, A.J. 121, 1648) over the spectral range available for comparison (350-670 nm).
