Manzini reported that the new object was about 30" west and 50" north of the nucleus of M32. Nothing was visible at this location on images taken on July 21.9 (limiting mag about 19.0). R. Behrend, Geneva Observatory, reports that he measured red mag 18.2 for the new object from Manzini's image on July 27.12, providing also the following precise position: R.A. = 0h42m39s.16, Decl. = +40o52'47".2 (equinox 2000.0). Behrend adds that a confirming image taken by Manzini on July 28.00 yields red mag 17.2 (noting the 1-day brightening) and position end figures 39s.12, 46".9.
