Gagliano report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 16.9) on an image taken with a 0.60-m reflector at Ellijay, GA, on Nov. 3.99 UT in the course of the Puckett Observatory Supernova Search. The object is located at R.A. = 17h12m00s.20, Decl. = +46o33'20".8 (equinox 2000.0), which is 14".6 east and 2".7 south of the center of MCG +08-31-29. The new object was confirmed at mag 16.7 on an image taken by Puckett with the 0.60-m reflector on Nov. 5.01. Nothing is visible at this location on images taken by Puckett on Oct. 2, 14, and 24 (limiting mag 19.0).
