Africa, reports his discovery of an apparent supernova (mag about 15.3 +/- 0.2) on unfiltered CCD images taken on Nov. 26.750 UT with a 0.30-m reflector. A confirming image taken by Monard on Nov. 27.739 showed 2006ox at mag 15.4 +/- 0.2. The new object is located at R.A. = 19h18m24s.21, Decl. = -60d30'09".9 (equinox 2000.0), which is 13" east and 7" south of the nucleus of the galaxy NGC 6769. Nothing appears at this position on the Digitized Sky Survey (limiting red mag 20.5) or on Monard's image from Oct. 29.75 (limiting red mag 18.0).
