Nakano, Sumoto, Japan, reports the discovery by Koichi Itagaki (Teppo-cho, Yamagata, Japan, 0.60-m f/5.7 reflector) of an apparent supernova (mag 17.1) on nine unfiltered 20-s CCD frames taken around Nov. 25.85 UT. The new object is located at R.A. = 14h42m30s.65, Decl. = +28o43'25".9 (equinox 2000.0), which is 35" west and 10" south of the center of NGC 5735. Nothing is visible at this location on Itagaki's image from Aug. 15 (limiting mag 18.5) or on earlier images to limiting mag 19.0, and nothing is visible on the Digitized Sky Survey. H. Naito, Nishi-Harima Astronomical Observatory (NHAO); and M. Shimada, T. Takaki, and H. Yamaoka, Kyushu University, confirmed 2006qp as a new object of magnitude I about 17.5 on an I-band CCD image taken on Nov. 30.86 with the NHAO 0.60-m reflector.
