Orff report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 18.2) on an image taken with a 0.35-m reflector at Ellijay, GA, on Jan. 9.02 UT in the course of the Puckett Observatory Supernova Search; 2007D was confirmed at mag 17.9 by Puckett with a 0.60-m reflector on Jan. 11.07. The new object is located at R.A. = 3h18m38s.71, Decl. =+37o36'26".4 (equinox 2000.0), which is 4".9 east and 2".8 south of the center of UGC 2653. Nothing is visible at this location on images taken by Puckett on 2005 Dec. 6 (limiting mag 19.4).
