Monard, Pretoria, South Africa, reports his discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 17.2 +/- 0.2) on unfiltered CCD images taken on May 11.917 UT with a 0.35-m telescope at the Bronberg Observatory near Pretoria; 2007ch was confirmed on May 12.737 at mag 17.0 +/- 0.2. The new object is located at R.A. = 15h49m47s.82, Decl. = -29o23'13".7 (equinox 2000.0), which is 23" west and 1" south of the nucleus of the galaxy NGC 6000. Nothing is visible at this location on an image from the Digitized Sky Survey (limiting red mag 20.5) or on an image taken on Apr. 19 by Monard (limiting red mag 18.5).
