Crowley report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 17.5) on a CCD image (limiting mag 19.2) taken with a 0.60-m reflector at Ellijay, GA, on May 15.12 UT in the course of the Puckett Observatory Supernova Search; 2007ci was confirmed at mag 17.5 by T. Orff and T. Crowley (Chiefland, FL, 0.25-m reflector) on May 16.15. The new object is located at R.A. = 11h45m45s.85, Decl. = +19o46'13".9 (equinox 2000.0), which is 3".8 west and 12".4 south of the center of NGC 3873. Nothing is visible at this location on images taken by Puckett on Jan. 31 (limiting mag 19.6).
