Kirshner, and P. Challis, Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, report that a spectrum (range 360-940 nm) of the possible supernova reported on CBET 968, obtained on May 21.05 UT by M. A. P. Torres and J. Steiner with the Magellan Clay 6.5-m telescope (+ LDSS3), shows it to be a reddened type-Ia supernova around one month past maximum light. Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra indicates that SN 2007cj is most similar to the type-Ia supernova 2002bo at 29 days past maximum light. Also, interstellar Na I D absorption at the redshift of the host galaxy is visible in the spectrum with an equivalent width of 0.2 nm.
