Madison and W. Li report the discovery of an apparent supernova on unfiltered KAIT images taken on July 3.47 (at mag 15.7) and 4.49 UT (mag 15.6). The new object is located at R.A. = 23h56m52s.37, Decl. = +5o30'31".8 (equinox 2000.0), which is 12".8 west and 2".5 north of the nucleus of UGC 12859. A KAIT image taken on June 22.49 showed nothing at this location (limiting mag 18.5).
