A. G. Monard reports the discovery of an apparent supernova (red mag about 16.6 +/- 0.2) on images taken on Aug. 11.70 UT and confirmed on Aug. 12.70 (at mag 16.7 +/- 0.2) at the Bronberg Observatory near Pretoria, South Africa. The new object is located at R.A. = 12h35m11s.22, Decl. = -0o13'21".6 (equinox 2000.0; via reference stars from USNO-B1.0 catalogue), which is 8" east and 6" south of the nucleus of the Sbc-type galaxy NGC 4541. Nothing is visible at this location on the Digitized Sky Survey (limiting red mag 20.5) or on an image taken on 2007 July 8.71 by Monard (limiting red mag 18.5).
