Stritzinger, on behalf of the Carnegie Supernova Project, report that a spectrogram (range 380-912 nm) of 2007rz (cf. CBET 1158), obtained on Dec. 10.26 UT with the du Pont 2.5-m telescope (+ WFCCD spectrograph) at Las Campanas Observatory, shows this to be a type-Ic supernova roughly one week after maximum light. Adopting for the host galaxy the NED recession velocity of 3897 km/s (from de Vaucouleurs et al. 1991, Third Reference Catalogue of Bright Galaxies), the 'superfit' spectrum-comparison code (Howell et at. 2005, Ap.J. 634, 1190) gives a very good match to the spectrum of SN 2004fe at 7-8 days after maximum light.
