Madison and W. Li report the discovery of an apparent supernova on unfiltered KAIT images taken on Dec. 13.31 (at mag 17.0) and 14.32 UT (mag 17.1). The new object is located at R.A. = 2h47m43s.13, Decl. = +13o15'14".8 (equinox 2000.0), which is 6".4 west and 4".5 south of the nucleus of NGC 1109. A KAIT image taken on Nov. 7.32 showed nothing at this position (limiting mag 19.3).
