Electronic Telegram No. 1534 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION M.S. 18, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, Cambridge, MA 02138, U.S.A. IAUSUBS@CFA.HARVARD.EDU or FAX 617-495-7231 (subscriptions) CBAT@CFA.HARVARD.EDU (science) URL http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/cbat.html VARIABLE STAR NEAR NGC 3432 Grzegorz Duszanowicz, Akersberga, Sweden, reports his discovery of a variable star (mag 18.0) on unfiltered CCD images (limiting mag 18.8) obtained on Oct. 7.12 UT with a 32-cm f/3.1 reflector (+ Starlight Xpress MX716 CCD camera). The new object is located at R.A. = 10h52m41s.33, Decl. = +36o40'08".9 (equinox 2000.0), which is 116" east and 176" north of the center of the galaxy NGC 3432. The discovery image has been posted at URL http://moonbase.be/html/gallery/sncand/PGC32643-S001-STACK-3.jpg. Following posting on the Central Bureau's unconfirmed-objects webpage, S. Nakano (Sumoto, Japan) reports that a confirming unfiltered CCD image taken by K. Itagaki (Yamagata, Japan, 0.60-m reflector) on Oct. 9.778 yields position end figures 41s.26, 08".9 for the variable. Additional unfiltered CCD magnitudes for the variable, by Duszanowicz unless noted otherwise: 2007 Feb. 20.80, [19.0 (Itagaki); 2008 Feb. 25.906, [18.7; Mar. 6.907, [18.9; Oct. 9.145 and 9.156, 18.0 (poor sky conditions); 9.778, 17.5 (Itagaki). The variable is very close to the position of the variable star(s) reported on IAUCs 7415, 7417, and 7419 (position end figures 41s.35 +/- 0s.06, 08".6 +/- 0".2).
