Pritchet, A. Parker, and S. Sadavoy, Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Victoria; and D. D. Balam, Dominion Astrophysical Observatory, National Research Council of Canada, report that a spectrogram (range 390-703 nm, resolution 0.3 nm) of 2009en (cf. CBET 1799), obtained on May 15.29 UT with the 1.82-m Plaskett Telescope of the National Research Council of Canada, shows it to be a type-Ia supernova several days past maximum light. Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra, using the "Supernova Identification" code of Blondin and Tonry (2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024), indicates that 2009en is most similar to the type-Ia supernova 2002er at 3 days past maximum light.
