Colesanti, and T. Napoleao, Belo Horizonte, Brazil, report the discovery of a variable star (mag 15.2) on a 30-s image (limiting mag 17.1) taken on Aug. 9.13 UT with a 30-cm f/3 Schmidt-Cassegrain reflector (+ ST7 CCD camera) in the course of their Brazilian Supernovae Survey at the CEAMIG-REA observatory. The object, which was confirmed at mag 15.4 on Aug. 10.13, is located at R.A. = 21h16m56s.41, Decl. = -64d52'18".7 (equinox 2000.0), which is 0".7 from a dim, non-stellar object as seen on a Digitized Sky Survey image from 1988 Sept. 8 (limiting red mag 20.0); nothing is seen at this position on their own image taken on 2003 July 28.18 (limiting mag 18.6).
