Boles, Coddenham, England, reports the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 18.5) on an unfiltered CCD image taken on Aug. 21.136 and 22.113 UT with a 0.35-m reflector. The new object is located at R.A. = 07h01m05s.58 +/- 0s.01, Decl. = +51o15'50".2 +/- 0".1, which is approximately 4".7 east and 20".7 south of the center of UGC 3627. Nothing is present at this position on Boles' images from 2008 Feb. 10 and 2009 Jan. 2 (limiting mag 19.5) or on Digitized Sky Survey Plates from 1989 Dec. 6 (limiting red mag 21.0) and 1990 Feb. 15 (limiting blue mag 20.5). The type-IIn supernova 2007bb (cf. CBETs 912, 916) also appeared in UGC 3627.
