Electronic Telegram No. 2093 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION M.S. 18, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, Cambridge, MA 02138, U.S.A. IAUSUBS@CFA.HARVARD.EDU or FAX 617-495-7231 (subscriptions) CBAT@CFA.HARVARD.EDU (science) URL http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/cbat.html SUPERNOVA 2009mg P. Roming, Pennsylvania State University; J. Prieto, Carnegie Observatories; and P. A. Milne, Steward Observatory, report that another spectrogram of SN 2009mg (range 400-900nm), obtained with the Magellan-Clay telescope (+ LDSS3) at Las Campanas Observatory on Dec. 24.3 UT shows that the supernova was initially misclassified on CBET 2087 by Prieto. The new spectrum shows clearly that 2009mg is a broad-line type-Ic supernova. Furthermore, photometry obtained with the Swift UVOT instrument shows that it is close to maximum light on Dec. 24 at magnitude V about 16.
