Anandarao, Astronomy and Astrophysics Division, Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad, India, report near-infrared photometry of the eruptive young stellar object V1647 Ori, undertaken at Mt. Abu Observatory's 1.2-m telescope (+ NICS with HAWAII-1 infrared array) during Dec. 18.797-18.809 UT. The object was reported to be in its strong outburst phase from optical and near-infrared observations (IAUCs 8968, 8969; CBET 1596), after having recovered from the earlier outburst during 2004-2005 (IAUCs 8284, 8600, 8681, 8694). The Mt. Abu observations were made in the bands J, H, and K on a very clear and photometric night. The photometric magnitudes were J = 10.7, H = 8.9, and K = 7.5, with typical errors of less than +/- 0.1 mag in each band. These values are very close to those at its brightest phase during its outburst reported in September 2008 (cf. optical observations on IAUC 9079). The infrared images clearly show the presence of McNeil's nebula around V1647 Ori. Further monitoring of the source will be done at Mt. Abu.
