Electronic Telegram No. 2152 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION M.S. 18, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, Cambridge, MA 02138, U.S.A. IAUSUBS@CFA.HARVARD.EDU or FAX 617-495-7231 (subscriptions) CBAT@CFA.HARVARD.EDU (science) URL http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/cbat.html U SCORPII A. Arai, Kyoto Sangyo University; and M. Yamanaka, M. Sasada, and R. Itoh, Hiroshima University, report that they obtained low-resolution optical spectroscopy (resolution 600) of U Sco (cf. IAUC 9111) on Jan. 28.81 UT at Higashi-Hiroshima Observatory. The spectrum shows strong emissions of H-alpha, H-beta, Fe II lines, and O I (777.4 and 844.6 nm) lines. The H-alpha and H-beta emissions are broadened with FWZI roughly 11000 km/s. The H-alpha emission line clearly shows a triple-peaked shape. These spectral features are like the nature of those seen during the previous two outbursts of U Sco in 1979 and 1999.
