A. G. Monard, Pretoria, South Africa, reports his discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 15.2 +/- 0.1) on an unfiltered CCD image taken on Apr. 13.978 UT; it was confirmed on Apr. 14.769 UT at mag 15.3 (+/- 0.2). The new object is located at R.A. = 14h12m07s.89, Decl. = -49o23'43".3 (equinox 2000.0), which is 12" west and 21" south of the core of nearby type-Sc galaxy PGC 50706 (= ESO 221-32). Nothing is visible at this position in the Digitized Sky Survey (limiting red mag 20.5) or on Monard's previous images of this galaxy taken at his Bronberg Observatory on 2009 Dec 31.0 (limiting mag 18.5) and earlier.
