Electronic Telegram No. 2337 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION CBAT Director: Daniel W. E. S. Bessell and B. P. Schmidt, Australian National University (ANU), report that a spectrogram (range 350-950 nm) of 2010el (cf. CBET 2334), obtained on June 23.80 UT with the 2.3-m ANU telescope (+ Wide Field Imaging Spectrograph), shows a relatively red continuum populated with low-velocity lines, including Si II 635.5-nm, and Ca H and K and the Ca infrared triplet. Ryan Foley, Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, notes that the object is remarkably similar to the low-energy peculiar type-Ia supernova 2008ha at one day before maximum light (Foley et al. 2009, A.J. 138, 37).
