Electronic Telegram No. 2346 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION CBAT Director: Daniel W. E. Green; Room 209; Dept. of Earth and Planetary Sciences; Harvard University; 20 Oxford St.; Cambridge, MA 02138; U.S.A. e-mail: cbat@iau.org; cbatiau@eps.harvard.edu URL http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/cbat.html SUPERNOVA 2010ev IN NGC 3244 M. Stritzinger, Las Campanas Observatory and Dark Cosmology Centre, on behalf of the Millennium Center for Supernova Science, reports that he obtained an optical spectrum of supernova 2010ev (cf. CBET 2344) on June 30.9 UT with the Gemini South (+ GMOS) telescope. The spectrum reveals that 2010ev is a young type-Ia supernova. Comparison with a library of supernova spectra (Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) suggests that this object is most similar to the normal supernovae 1992A and 2004eo several days or more before maximum light.
