Crowley, J. Newton, and T. Puckett report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 17.1) on an unfiltered CCD image (limiting mag 19.2) taken with a 0.40-m reflector at Portal, AZ, U.S.A., on Dec. 25.22 UT in the course of the Puckett Observatory Supernova Search. The new object was confirmed at mag 17.1 on Dec. 26.21 by Puckett with the 0.40-m reflector at Portal. The new object is located at R.A. = 3h20m53s.62, Decl. = +38o15'11".9 (equinox 2000.0), which is 21".6 east and 2".4 south of the center of UGC 2685. Nothing is visible at this position on images taken by Puckett on Nov. 6 (limiting mag 19.3).
