Prasad and W. Li report the LOSS discovery of an apparent supernova on unfiltered KAIT images taken on Sept. 21.20 (at mag 18.8) and 22.23 UT (mag 18.3). SN 2006gr is located at R.A. = 22h32m22s.67, Decl. = +30o49'43".3 (equinox 2000.0), which is 23".2 west and 24".5 south of the nucleus of UGC 12071. A KAIT image taken on Sept. 3.23 showed nothing at this position (limiting mag 19.5).
