Prasad and W. Li report the LOSS discovery of an apparent supernova on unfiltered KAIT images taken on Oct. 12.54 (at mag 17.2) and 15.54 UT (mag 17.1). SN 2006jd is located at R.A. = 8h02m07s.43, Decl. = +0d48'31".5 (equinox 2000.0), which is 22".0 east and 1".3 south of the nucleus of UGC 4179. A KAIT image taken on Apr. 21.17 showed nothing at this position (limiting mag 19.0).
