Nakano, Sumoto, Japan, reports the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 17.5) by K. Itagaki (Teppo-cho, Yamagata, on numerous unfiltered CCD frames taken around Apr. 27.61 UT using a 0.60-m f/5.7 reflector (limiting magnitude 19.0). The new object is located at R.A. = 13h29m26s.48 +/- 0s.02, +11o00'44".8 (equinox 2000.0), which is 9" east and 16" north of the center of NGC 5174. Nothing is visible at this location on the Digitized Sky Survey or on Itagaki's numerous past survey images of this galaxy (most recently Feb. 26 and Apr. 11.67, both with limiting mag 19.0). A confirming image of 2007cd by Itagaki on Apr. 28.527 yields mag 17.6.
