Sostero report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 17.6) on CCD images (limiting mag 19.0) taken with a 0.35-m reflector at Ellijay, GA, on May 23.34 UT in the course of the Puckett Observatory Supernova Search. The new object is located at R.A. = 17h48m21s.19, Decl. = +54o09'05".2 (equinox 2000.0), which is 3".2 west and 8".2 north of the center of NGC 6479. Nothing is visible at this location on images taken by Puckett on 2006 May 16 (limiting mag 19.4). A confirming image of 2007cl at mag 17.3 was obtained on May 23.85 by G. Sostero and T. Orff with a 0.45-m reflector at Remanzacco, Italy. NOTE: These 'Central Bureau Electronic Telegrams' are sometimes superseded by text appearing later in the printed IAU Circulars.
