Klotz, Observatoire de Haute Provence, on behalf of the "TAROT collaboration", reports the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag about R = 15.3 +/- 0.3) on June 29.00 UT using images of the 0.25-m "TAROT" robotic telescope at La Silla. The new object is located at R.A. = 10h37m45s.4, Decl. = -27o04'57" (equinox 2000.0), which is 24" west and 6" south of the nucleus of IC 2597. Nothing is present at this location on a TAROT image taken on June 24.98 (limiting R mag 17.8) or on Palomar Sky Survey images, but 2007cv is present on images taken on June 25.99 (R = 17.5 +/- 0.5) and 27.00 (R = 15.5 +/- 0.3).
