SUPERNOVAE 2008bc AND 2008bd
     G. Pignata, J. Maza, M. Hamuy, R. Antezana, and L. Gonzalez, Universidad
de Chile; and D. Reichart, K. Ivarsen, A. Crain, D. Foster, M. Nysewander, and
A. LaCluyze, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, on the behalf of the
CHASE project, report the discovery of two apparent supernovae on unfiltered
images taken with the 0.41-m "PROMPT 5" telescope located at Cerro Tololo:

The magnitudes are stated as approximate, and the uncertainty in each
positional coordinate is given as +/- 0".1.  Additional magnitudes for
2008bc:  Feb. 28.11 UT, [18.0; Mar. 6.33, [17.5; 14.03, 15.2.  Additional
magnitudes for 2008bd in MCG -02-26-42:  Feb. 17.19, [18.0; 25.15, [18.0;
Mar. 14.04, 16.7.
