Antezana, L. Gonzalez, P. Gonzalez, P. Lopez, S. Silva, and G. Folatelli, Universidad de Chile; and D. Reichart, K. Ivarsen, A. Crain, D. Foster, M. Nysewander, and A. LaCluyze, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, on the behalf CHASE project, report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag approximately 17.7) on a luminance- filter CCD image taken on Apr. 2.23 UT with the 0.41-m "PROMPT 2" telescope located at Cerro Tololo; a confirming image from Apr. 4.00 shows 2008bp at mag approximately 17.6. The new object is located at R.A. = 10h00m01s.57, Decl. = -31o33'21".8 (equinox 2000.0; uncertainty +/- 0".2 in each coordinate), which is about 54".4 west and 11".8 south of center of the galaxy NGC 3095. Nothing is visible at this position on archival images taken on Mar. 16.12 and 21.01 (limiting mag 18.0). The type-II supernova 2004ej also appeared in NGC 3095.
