Antezana, L. Gonzalez, P. Gonzalez, P. Lopez, S. Silva, G. Folatelli, D. Iturra, R. Cartier, and F. Forster, Universidad de Chile; B. Conuel, Wesleyan University; and D. Reichart, K. Ivarsen, A. Crain, D. Foster, M. Nysewander, and A. LaCluyze, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, on behalf of the CHASE project, report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag approximately 12.8 +/- 0.2) on a Luminance-filter image taken on Oct. 8.27 UT with the 0.41-m 'PROMPT 2' telescope at Cerro Tololo. The new object is located at R.A. = 4h08m24s.68 +/- 0".1, Decl. = -47o53'47".4 +/- 0".1 (equinox 2000), which is about 5".4 east 2".0 north of center of the galaxy NGC 1527. Additional magnitudes for 2008ge: Aug. 21.24, [17.5; 28.33, [17.0; Sept. 8.23, 12.4 +/- 0.3; 16.35, 12.4 +/- 0.3; 25.33, 12.4 +/- 0.3; Oct. 2.23, 12.4 +/- 0.3. The magnitudes are from aperture photometry and therefore highly contaminated by the light of the host galaxy.
