Nakano, Sumoto, Japan, reports the discovery by K. Itagaki (Teppo-cho, Yamagata) reports his discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 16.2) on 20-s unfiltered CCD frames (limiting magnitude 19.0) taken on June 8.718 UT using a 0.60-m f/5.7 reflector; a confirming image on June 9.673 yields mag 16.3. The new object is located at R.A. = 23h28m26s.78 +/- 0s.01, Decl. = +22o24'50".4 +/- 0".2 (equinox 2000.0; average of measures from images taken on the two nights), which is 15" west and 26" south of the center of the galaxy NGC 7678. Nothing is visible at this position on his many past frames (general limiting magnitude 19.0, but limiting mag 19.5 on 2006 Aug. 3) or on the Digitized Sky Survey; there is no recent survey image because this galaxy is in the eastern morning sky. Following posting on the Central Bureau's unconfirmed-objects webpage, T. Kryachko (Moscow) reports that he obtained a 300-s unfiltered CCD image remotely with a 300-mm f/7.7 Ritchey-Chretien telescope (+ Apogee Alta U9000 CCD camera) at the Astrotel Observatory of Kazan State University's Mountain station (Karachay-Cherkessia, Russia), yielding red mag 16.4 on June 10.00 UT and position end figures 26s.77, 49".9; his image (with 2009ga marked) is posted at the following website URL: http://www.astronomy.ru/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=25431.0;attach= 185811;image. The type-Ib supernova 1997dc also appeared in NGC 7678. NOTE: These 'Central Bureau Electronic Telegrams' are sometimes superseded by text appearing later in the printed IAU Circulars.
