A. G. Monard, Pretoria, South Africa, reports his discovery of an apparent supernova (magnitude 16.1) on unfiltered CCD images taken on May 6.105 and 6.952 UT at his Bronberg Observatory. The new object, designated 2010co, is located at R.A. = 20h08m54s.92, Decl. = -56d23'40".8 (equinox 2000.0), which is 1" east and 9" south of the core of the nearby type-SBb galaxy NGC 6862. Nothing is visible at this position in Digitized Sky Survey images (limiting red mag 20.5) or on the previous image of this galaxy taken at the Bronberg Observatory on Apr. 13.144 (limiting mag 18.5).
