Electronic Telegram No. 5602 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams Mailing address: Hoffman Lab 209; Harvard University; 20 Oxford St.; Cambridge, MA 02138; U.S.A. e-mail: cbatiau@eps.harvard.edu (alternate cbat@iau.org) URL http://www.cbat.eps.harvard.edu/index.html Prepared using the Tamkin Foundation Computer Network 2004 VU_75 A. Thirouin and W. M. Grundy, Lowell Observatory; S. S. Sheppard, Carnegie Institution for Science; and K. S. Noll, Goddard Space Flight Center, NASA, report that the trans-Neptunian object 2004 VU_75 has a satellite based on Hubble Space Telescope (HST) images. The secondary is offset from the primary by -0".019 in R.A, and by +0".046 in Decl. on 2024 Oct. 13.27569 UT, corresponding to a separation of at least 1500 km. Because the primary and the secondary are blended, this system may be a close binary or a wide binary undergoing a mutual events season, while the HST observation occurred during or close to a mutual event.
