COMET TAGO-SATO-KOSAKA (1969g)
Mr. Z. M. Pereyra, Cordoba Observatory for the Comision Nacional
de Estudios Geo-Heliofisicos, Argentina, sends the following
positions, obtained with the 33-cm astrograph. The plates were
measured by Miss Beatriz Oviedo. On Jan. 2 the comet was a
naked-eye object, with a 10o type II tail, which was divided into two
parabolic branches, surrounding a rich filamentous type I tail.
The head was very bright, and the total magnitude was always in
good agreement with the predictions. Spectra taken with an objective
prism on Dec. 30 show continuum, brighter than that obtained on
Dec. 27. The tail spectrum is notable in the red.
