B2 1101+38
     K. Pounds, X-Ray Astronomy Group, University of Leicester,
telexes: "One of several high-latitude transient sources detected
by the Ariel 5 x-ray sky survey is probably identified with the BL
Lac object B2 1101+38. First seen on June 1, the source brightened
to 16 Ariel cts/s on June 6 and then faded to 5 cts/s by June 10.
It was still visible at 0.7 cts/s in mid-September. The high
variability of B2 1101+38 suggests the importance of continued study of
this region at optical, radio and x-ray wavelengths."

HDE 245770
     G. D. Schmidt and W. Romanishin, Steward Observatory, write:
"In an attempt to detect optical pulsations from the periodic x-ray
source A0535+26, the primary optical candidate BD +26 883 = HDE
245770 was photoelectrically monitored with a 40-cm telescope at
Kitt Peak National Observatory during the recent x-ray turn-on
(IAUC 2863). No variation in intensity at the x-ray period of 104
s was evident on Nov. 11 or 12 in the observed blue wavelength band
to an upper limit of 0.2 percent (3 sigma)."

V1500 CYGNI
     O. V. Dobrovol'skij, Institute of Astrophysics, Dushanbe,
reports that, according to N. N. Kiselev, the polarization in the
visual region varied with an amplitude of 0.5 percent and period of
14 days between Sept. 27 and Nov. 7.

Further selected recent visual magnitude estimates: Nov. 6.02
UT, 8.8 (P. Collins, Cambridge, Massachusetts); 10.06, 8.9 (W. I.
Nissen, Arlington, Virginia); 14.03, 9.4 (P. Maley, Houston, Texas);
18.07, 9.4 (T. R. Williams, Houston, Texas); 20.97, 9.0 (Collins).

R CORONAE BOREALIS
Selected visual magnitude estimates: Nov. 2.98 UT, 10.3 (G. W.
Kelley, Glade Springs, Virginia); 4.95, 10.3 (P. Collins, Cambridqe,
Massachusetts); 6.94, 10.4 (Collins); 8.98, 10.4 (Kelley); 12.4,
10.7 (J. Bortle, Brooks Observatory); 16.4, 10.6 (Bortle).
