COMET LOVAS (1977c)
The following precise positions were obtained by R. E.
McCrosky, G. Schwartz and C. Y. Shao with the 155-cm reflector at
the Harvard College Observatory's Agassiz Station. Measurer: Shao.
On the Mar. 20 exposure the comet was diffuse with a small
condensation and a possible tail in p.a. ~ 0o.

The following parabolic elements, by B. G. Marsden, satisfy
the five accurate positions within ~ 2". The ephemeris on IAUC
3052 requires correction by perhaps +2' in Decl. by Apr. 27.

SUPERNOVA IN NGC 5406
     B. Szeidl, Konkoly Observatory, cables that M. Lovas has
discovered a supernova 33" west and 23" south of the nucleus of NGC
5406. On Mar. 18 the photographic magnitude was 14.0.

HEAO-A GUEST INVESTIGATOR PROGRAM
The first High Energy Astronomy Observatory (HEAO-A) is scheduled
for launch on Apr. 15. The Observatory contains four large x-ray
and gamma-ray astronomy experiments designed to operate in the energy
range from 0.2 keV to 10 MeV. Scanning will be accomplished by
rotating the spacecraft at a rate of from 0.1 to 0.03 rpm about an
axis aligned with the sun. Experiments view in the scan plane (90o
to the sun) with fields of view from 1o to 20o along the scan direction
and from 0.5o to 20o perpendicular to the scan direction Details
for participation in a Guest Investigator Program for HEAO-A
will be distributed from NASA in the near future. The coordinator
of the program will be Dr. G. J. Fishman, Code E562, Marshall Space
Flight Center, AL 35812, U.S.A. (telephone 205-453-2701).
