COMET MEIER (1978f)
Rolf Meier, Ottawa, Ontario, reports the discovery of a comet
as follows (40-cm f/5 reflector, 56 x):

     1978 UT R. A. (1950) Decl. m1
     Apr. 27.08 7 18.7 +53 47 10

The comet is diffuse, with condensation, and appears to be moving
southward at perhaps 0o.4 per day. Confirmatory observations have
been reported by E. Everhart, University of Denver (Apr. 27.3 UT,
m1 ~ 11.5, 23-cm reflector), and photographically by H. L. Giclas
at the Lowell Observatory.

PERIODIC COMET GEHRELS 3 (1975o)
The following precise positions have been reported:

     Mar. 2.62371 11 05 39.23 + 4 12 24.6 17 Kosai

H. Kosai (Tokyo Astronomical Observatory, Kiso Station). Comet
with condensation, tail < 1o. Communicated by Y. Kozai.
T. Urata (JCPM Yakiimo Station). From Nihondaira Obs. Circ. No. 967.
T. Seki (Kochi Observatory, Geisei Station).

COMET LOVAS (1976 XII)
The following precise position was obtained by J. D.
Mulholland with the 208-cm reflector at the McDonald Observatory.
The image showed some diffuseness with some evidence of a fanned
tail. The plate was measured by Mulholland, the secondary reference
frame being established by M. A. Dritschel from the Palomar
Sky Survey (glass copy) and SAO Star Catalog.

     1978 UT R. A. (1950) Decl.
