COMET TORRES (1980e)
     C. Torres, Department of Astronomy, University of Chile, reports
the following additional semi-accurate position of this object:

     1980 UT R. A. (1950) Decl. m1
     June 17.25532 19 04.8 -31 20 16

PERIODIC COMET BROOKS 2 (1980f)
H.-E. Schuster, European Southern Observatory, reports the recovery
of this comet. Available positions are:

     1980 UT R. A. (1950) Decl. m1 Observer
     June 13.29861 22 06 46.8 - 5 44 30 ~19 Schuster
          18.27914 22 10 58.54 - 5 17 20.0 ~19 Bulger

H.-E. Schuster (European Southern Observatory). Semi-accurate position.
J. H. Bulger and C.-Y. Shao (Harvard College Observatory, Agassiz
Station). Image weak and nearly stellar.

The recovery indicates a small correction by Delta-T = -0.02 day to
the elements on MPC 4773 (ephemeris on MPC 5043).

3C 446
     B. E. Westerlund, European Southern Observatory, communicates:
"Observations at La Silla, Chile, show that the quasi-stellar object
3C 446 (PKS 2223-05) has recently undergone an outburst of over 3
magnitudes. On June 17d09h40m UT, it had V = 14.90, B-V = +0.51 and
U-B = -0.51, and on June 18d10h00m the corresponding values were V =
15.20, B-V = +0.50 and U-B = -0.54, with indications of a relatively
rapid decrease in brightness."

CORRIGENDUM
On IAUC 3471, Pluto Appulse on 1980 April 6, it should read:
"Observations were continuous from Apr. 6d22h40m to 7d00h20m UT,
. . ." in the fourth and fifth lines.

1980 June 19 (3486) Daniel W. E. Green
