PERIODIC COMET HARRINGTON (1980m)
M. P. Candy, Perth Observatory, reports that P. Jekabsons has
recovered this comet as follows:
1980 UT R. A. (1950) Decl. m1
Sept. 4.49653 17 27 28.93 -22 05 00.8 18-19
8.50451 17 31 54.94 -22 29 01.2
9.51042 17 33 06.46 -22 35 12.1
Measurements were made by H. McMay and J. Johnston. The object is
described as diffuse with condensation, nothing reported about a
tail. The Sept. 8 measurement was difficult due to interference
from nearby stars. Calculations reveal a correction to the elements
by G. Sitarski (1973, Acta Astron. 23, 170ff.) of Delta-T = +0d.60.
COMET RUSSELL (1980l)
