Bus, currently observing with the U.K. Schmidt Telescope Unit at Siding Spring, provides the following accurate positions, measured by him from exposures by K. S. Russell: 1981 UT R. A. (1950) Decl. m1 Mar. 2.60104 11 53 27.48 - 0 09 12.9 17.5 3.58906 11 52 57.36 - 0 04 30.5 (There was apparently an error in the sign of Decl. originally reported.) The comet's image consists of a central condensation and a faint tail, 20" long, to the northwest. 1980 YS MPC 5827 contains the discovery observations, by N. G. Thomas, of a minor planet that was moving slightly direct at opposition. As a result of computations by E. Bowell and J. G. Williams, further observations have now been obtained. The observations are: 1980/81 UT R. A. (1950) Decl. Mag. The orbit computation leads to: T = 1981 Jan. 12, Peri. = 49o, Node = 59o, Incl. = 2o.3, q = 1.23 AU, e = 0.32. The resulting ephemeris is: 1981 ET R. A. (1950) Decl. Delta r Mag.
